And they call it Puppy Loooooovvvve……

Meet Dodger, our new puppy! He’s a long-haired Mini Dachshund.

Some friends surprised us with him Sunday afternoon. DH had been saying he just wasn’t ready for another dog yet. I can understand what he is feeling, what with our heartbreak over losing our other pets this year. It’s quite an emotional investment. But the love we experience so outweighs the sadness. What’s the saying? ‘ better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all?’ Or something close to it. opening our hearts to a new puppy in no way diminishes or disrespects the memory of our other babies. In a way, I feel they are still with us.

The cats, 18 year old Baby and 15 year old Ranger, are taking it kinda in stride. Baby looks at him like he is some kind of big rat (she doesn’t DO mice. It’s not her area.) and Ranger is surprisingly curious. We’ll have to watch how this develops. Maybe I can have some fun stories like Ballpoint Wren does about Mojo.

Well, a storm is rolling in (THANK GOD! We need the rain) so I guess I should shut down. Check ya later!

  3. Omigosh!!!!!! He is DARLING!!!! Look at those puppy feet!!!

You’ve got to check out this gal’s site. She takes famous songs and rewrites them, singing them from her mini-doxie’s point of view.

Like, Gwen Stefani’s “I ain’t no hollaback girl” gets turned into “I ain’t no collar-wearin’ dog!” And “I believe” gets turned into “I believe in pee… but it’s so hard… to pee in the yard… sorry, Mom!”

I won her CD in that karaoke contest and it is so funny, and now you have a mini doxy, I know you’ll love it.

I’m so glad you got a puppy, April.

    Puppy Loooooovvvve RULES!!!

  4. Oh! Thanks for the site! I’ll have to put it to good use! 😉
