Creak, Squint, Groan…and Letting Go.

It’s creeping up on me.

Yesterday at the Optometrist, he told me my eyes weren’t improving very quickly from an over-correction disaster I didn’t know I’d had, but that he’d found last fall.  Evidently, I’d been very over-corrected in my right eye for some years.  I didn’t know it, which I thought weird, but he said eyes had a way of compensating.  ANYWAY, he said that since I was pushing my 40’s (!) My eye muscles naturally slow down as I AGE.  AND–icing on the cake–we’ll probably be looking at bifocals next year. *sigh*

And tonight, I indulged in the odiferous delight of rubbing a mentholated cream on my elbow, which has decided to be creaky lately.  I don’t think it helped the creak, but my skin feels tingly and my sinuses are clearer.

The groaning part comes in in several areas.  Take your pick: Getting out of bed, looking in the mirror and seeing things areen’t where they should be (not that they’ve been there for a long time, I’m dreadfully out of shape.   And that’s putting it nicely)  or approaching a group of teenagers and knowing you are bound to be irritated.  But then, the teenageraphobia isn’t a new thing either, I guess.  I didn’t like teenagers that traveled in packs when I WAS a teenager.

Who needs a therapist?  Nah, not me.  But I did get something in the e-mail today that was pretty cool.  I don’t know if T.D. Jakes is really the author or not, but regardless, this is a neat thing to read:

Let it go for 2007

By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk.

I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The Bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead. You’ve got to know when it’s dead.

You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something. I’ve got the gift of good-bye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging people to stay.
Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to……

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ……

If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and
see your worth…..

If someone has angered you . . .

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge……

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction……

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents

If you have a bad attitude…….

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better……

If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him……

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship…….

If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves……

If you’re feeling depressed and stressed ………

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying “take your hands off of it,” then you need to……

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new thing for 2007!!!

Get Right or Get Left .. think about it, and then .

“The Battle is the Lord’s!”

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who are in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy
Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever.

    Hip Hip Hooray!!!!
This is the year of letting go and so many changes are happening some we may perceive as bad and some as good, but in the great scheme of things everything is GOOD and it is all in our attitude. Change is always good and just letting go is the hard part. Thanks for sharing that it is wonderful and was just the message I needed to read. Have a great day and God bless
