Kentucky Derby winner BarbaroSquare, Pa., after an eight-month battle to regain his health captured the hearts of America in a way that hasn’t been seen in the racing world since Seabiscuit and Secretariat.
I was hoping he’d recover and spend the rest of his days making little Barbaros. Yet another example of an animal with a strong heart. God Speed, Barbaro.

I really, really, REALLY hate horse racing, I hate hearing stories like tis. That beautiful animal.
That is so sad. I hoped he was going to make it, too.
